How many gallons of gas is the equivalent to a fuel cell?

I am curious how much power a fuel cell can create.

The fuel cell needs to be recharged with hydrogen so the usual comparison is 1 gallon of gas to 1kg of hydrogen. Most of the passenger fuel cell vehicles (that aren’t crazy concept cars) on get an equivalent of about 50mpg. However, this comparison doesn’t take into account that the fuel cell is far cleaner than gas, producing almost no harmful emissions from the car itself.
