How many gallons of fuel are used in a NASCAR race?

The typical NASCAR vehicle gets approximately 4 1/2 miles per gallon. The typical NASCAR race is 400 miles and there are 43 cars in a race. That works out to over 3800 gallons of fuel per race! That’s only during the actual race, not including warm up laps, set backs during the race, etc.
