Florida panthers (Puma concolor coryi) used to freely roam from Texas to Tennessee. Currently they can only be found in a small area in the southernmost tip of Florida. Their enormous reduction in population size can be attributed mostly to overhunting and a loss of natural habitat. Sadly, there are only about 100 of these powerful and graceful creature still alive in the wild.
