There’s no way to know for sure. Electric car charging stations with built-in photovoltaics do exist, such as the one in Chicago. Other stations are ran off the grid, and probably even this Chicago installation would need grid energy during high demand times. If the local electricity utility company generates or buys power from solar energy, then the stations will end up being solar powered.
