The 2010 North American International Auto Show, held from January 11 to 24, 2010 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, featured at least 9 prototypes at its “Electric Avenue” section designed to showcase electric cars. Some of the vehicles exhibited included the Cadillac Converj, an electric version of the Tesla Roadster Sport and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV. Some of the cars are scheduled for release on the open market in 2010, while others are expected in 2011 or 2012. Not all of the alternative cars were electric, however; Mercedez-Benz, for instance, showcased its BlueZero F-Cell model, which runs on a hydrogen cell.
