How many eggs do salmons lay?

Interesting question.  Female salmon can carry between 2,500, and 7,500 eggs.  They will then lay eggs in what is called a nest, with 500 to 1,200 eggs and make 4 to 5 nests.  Of course this depends on the specific salmon species.
