While there are many species of predatory bird, many of which will eat other birds should the opportunity arise. However, the number of predatory birds that specialize in eating other birds is comparatively small. Falcons – about 37 species — are generally more apt at catching other birds than most predatory birds. Shrikes are also fairly well-known for including other birds in their diet — there are some 40 species of shrike. Hawks in the genus Accipiter are often good at catching other birds — some 50 species, including the sharp-shinned hawk. are good at catching other birds. Bald eagles will sometimes take ducks. I’m sorry I can’t give you a concrete number, and I’m sure I missed a few types of birds, but there are many varieties of predatory bird, and among them much variation.
