Between 10-20 new types of dinosaurs are discovered each year. All together 527 genera (groups of dinosaur species) have been found, but some scientists believe this represents only a fraction of what once existed. Peter Dodson of the University of Pennsylvania and Steve Wang of Swarthmore College both estimate that far more than half of all genera are still out there, waiting to be found.
