How many different snakes are in the racer family?

A racer is any Colubrid snake, or any snake in the Colubridae family.

According to The University of Pittsburgh, there are over 2000 species worldwide.

The Encyclopaedia Britannica says there are more than 1600 species, and that they comprise approximately 2/3 of the world’s snakes.

I found no reference to an actual or estimated count of Colubrids or worldwide snakes in total, from which the Colubrids could be derived by multiplying by 2/3.

There are 102 species of Colubrid in the United States.
