How many chords can you plug into a wall socket (using an adapter) before blowing a circuit?

It’s actually not so much about how many cords you plug in but the wattage of the appliances/electronics you are plugging in. To figure this out, check the wattage your circuit can handle (there are usually several circuits in a home so may have difficulty figuring out which circuit you’re looking for) by finding the circuit breaker panel (often looks like a black box of switches in your garage or a utility closet–check the link in citations for more info.) The number of amps the circuit can handle will be printed on the black switches.
