There are as many as 64 chemicals that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has banned. This is a result of the EPA’s participation in a voluntary international program known as the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) procedure. This program bans pesticides with harmful chemicals such as aldrin or azodrin. A banned pesticide is a pesticide for which all registered uses of this pesticide have been prohibited by the government.
