The adult human body has 206 bones in it.
A newborn has a lot more bones than adults – from 270 to 350 according to different sources, and 206 in an adult on average. So the actual number of bones in a person will vary with age and from individual to individual. This is because many of those fuse as the person grows up, such as coccyx (tailbone), sacrum (triangular bone at the base of the spine), hip bones, the skull, and others.
