Are you asking about bodies found after the Madeira flood earlier in late February? As of February 25th, the death toll was announced to be at 39 bodies. Originally, authorities had claimed 42 bodies but revised the number down after getting official numbers from the morgue. Some sources are still listing 42 bodies, hundreds injured, and a handful still missing.
As of February 26, 2010, there were 42 confirmed deaths. However with 8 people still missing, the final death toll is is unsure. At least 100 people were injured during the storm. The floods and mudslides were the result of a weather event that dropped more than double the monthly average of rainfall in a very short period. Between 6am – 11am, 108 mm. of rain was recorded at Funchal weather station and 165 mm of rain was recorded at Pico do Areeiro.
