    According to the CIA world factbook, the US produces roughly 8.45 million barrels of crude oil per day (2007).

    The US produces about 5.5 million barrels of crude oil per day, not 8.45. The additional volume (7.8 million barrels total in August 2010, down from 8.45) comes from natural gas liquids, condensate, and volumetric gains from refining.
