Roughly 35,000 bald eagles live in Alaska, which is half the bald eagle population in the US. Another 20,000 live in the northwest. However, there is a southern bald eagle as well which lives in Florida, Texas, and South Carolina. The total population is believed to be around 70,000, making the species no longer endangered.
