Is there any source that can tell us for sure (as opposed to an estimate?)
There are approximately 4 million births per year in the United States. So, if you take the average of births per day, then there were about 11,000 babies born yesterday.
I don’t think there is a source. It may be the case that hospitals have a computer record, but there would be a large margin of error which would account for births outside those hospitals. Another clue as to whether or not there is a record is the fact that we need to do a census every ten years to get a relatively accurate head-count. I think the only way to measure is by estimate.
