As of 2005, there were 65 active volcanoes in the US. There are 20 (active and potentially active) within the continental US, and the other 45 are located on Hawaii and in Alaska. These volcanoes are located mostly on the west coast, with Yellowstone and Bandera Field being the furthest inland that active volcanoes are found.
