According to the USDA Nationa Agricultural Statistics Service, in 2011 farmers within the United States collectively grew 92.3 million acres of corn, an increase of 4.6 million acres from 2010. Corn accounts for 28.9 percent of all crops grown within the United States, with Soybeans coming in a close second at 75.2 million acres.
