How long would a household have to use solar panels before they pay for themselves?

Solarbuzz says that that payback time could vary from 10 to 15 years, based on how energy use is calculated (i.e., are you charged more for peak hour electricity), how much it costs to purchase electricity from the grid, how well-designed your system is and what local incentives are available for installing a photovoltaic system.
