Well depending on how much you drive, it may not pay it off at all. Lets say you’re prius cuts your fuel cost in half to about 1,000 dollars a year. You still have to purchase a 6,000 dollar battery every 3 years. That means you must budget 2,000 dollars a year. that is 1,000 more than you may be saving.
Unless, I am doing something wrong with my calculations (please let me know it wont hurt me :D), you may not be saving what you expected. But do not worry the environment is priceless.
