How long will it take for most of Hawaii to be under water?

Sea levels are rising faster than first thought. The UN predicts that melt from Greenland and Antarctica may raise sea levels a meter by 2100. The Hawaiian islands are in fact still growing as the tectonic plate they rest on moves gradually over a hotspot. The islands are relatively young, the Big Island less than one million years old. Because of this, lower-elevation areas such as Burma and Bangladesh, and cities on the coast are in greater threat of being submerged.
