The life of an electric car battery is measured in miles. It appears that battery technology is allowing us to build batteries that can go for over 180,000 miles, which is a pretty high number relative to how much people drive today. Americans average 15,000 miles a year, so that means that Americans are looking at a battery life span of over 10 years, time-wise.
