    Discovery was completed in 1983 and flew its first mission in 1984. Since then, it flew more missions and spent more time in space than any other man operated space craft. The Discovery took 38 trips into space, spent 352 days in orbit, and traveled about 143 million miles. It carried a total of 246 astronauts and helping in setting multiple space flight records. The Discovery landed for the last time on March 9, 2011 at Kennedy Space Center.
