The Mekong River is the longest river in its area at 2,610 miles long (4,200 km). Its source come from Qinghai Province in China near the border Tibet. This great river runs through the Yunnan Province, Laos, Cambodia, and southern Vietnam before it reaches the South China Sea. It also forms the borders between Laos and Myanmar (Burma) as well as the border between Laos and Thailand.
