How long have we been using Geothermal energy for power?

    The first use of geothermal energy to heat an urban district occured in the 14th century in Chaudes-Aigues, France. In 1827, geothermal energy was first used for industrial ends. Italian industrialists used the steam from a geyser to “extract boric acid from volcanic mud”.
