The idea that gases have the ability to trap and sequester gases in the atmosphere is no new idea to science. The concept was first discovered in 1824 by Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier and further study revealed many of the mysteries that these gases had to offer. However, the first proposed theory that the use of combustible fossil fuels could result in a change in Earth’s climate was the brainchild of Svante Arhenius known as the Callendar effect as earlt as 1896.
