How long has the White House had an organic garden?

The Obamas planted an organic garden in 2009, which was the first vegetable garden at the White House since Eleanor Roosevelt’s victory garden during World War II. I’m not sure if that one was organic or not; however, the Obama’s garden started off with 55 different vegetables, a huge step up from the Clinton’s vegetables that grew in pots on the White House roof. The garden was expanded to become 1,600 square feet in 2010.
