There are quite a few factors that go into how long it will take water to evaporate, including the amount of water, the surrounding temperature, the rate of airflow (wind) around the water and the pressure that the water is under.
In general, the highest factor that affects the rate of evaporation is the amount of heat surrounding the water. For instance, when you put a pot of water on the stove and turn up the heat, you’ll notice that it only takes a short amount of time to evaporate a significant portion of the water away. This is because pots are made to retain a lot of heat and transfer it to what they’re holding.
However, if you’re just looking for a general answer of how long it would probably take an 8 ounce glass of water placed outside to evaporate, the answer is probably somewhere between 10 and 15 days.
