You can rehydrate yourself quickly enough just by drinking a glass of water or some gatorade. Most people live their lives in a partially dehydrated state, though, and do nothing to change this fact. In 2005, the Institute of the Medicine of the National Academy came to the conclusion that women should drink at least 9-eight ounce glasses of fluid each day, and that men should drink at least 12-eight ounce glasses. If you are getting more exercise than others, this number is larger.
