How long does it take rain to get to our water table?

That depends on what kind of soil you’re sitting on. Soils with a high amount of clay will impede water soaking down to the water table. This is because the clay is not porous and the particles are very compact. Soils high in sand will allow water to soak to the water table much more quickly. If you’re sitting on rock, then the type of rock matters much the same way as clay vs sand. If there are a lot of pores and cracks in the rock, the water will go through more quickly than water going through rocks that are more solid.
