In general, a wind turbine can pay for itself within 5-20 years of installation. However, here are the factors involved you need to analyze to determine for your case:
-the wind speed on your property and how often that speed is achieved
-the amount of power that can be generated by your system from the wind speed
-how much energy you are using (kWh)
-the cost of energy ($/ kWh you would be paying from the utility company
-whether or not you can sell energy back to the utility
-how much the system cost
-what tax rebates are possible.
