How long does it take for non recycled paper and recycled paper to decompose

Decomposition time depends on the environment; in a moist or wet environment decomposition takes a few weeks. In drier conditions it takes longer. Thicker or more well-bonded paper also takes longer to decompose. This means that recycled paper would probably decompose faster given that it has processed twice and may be bonded with used paper particles. Non-recycled paper is freshly bonded with wood fiber, therefore it is more resilient to decomposition.
