The time will of course differ depending on your local circumstance, but there are wastewater purification plants with the ability to turn your water from sewage to pure in as little as 24 hours. This means that, while it might take another day or two for the water to reach the plant, enter the filter, and return to you, it could easily be less than a week before your water is purified. Really, the biggest factor lies in the volume of water the treatment plant is able to handle, but as places like San Diego are building major plants, expect this time to be reduced even more.
I hope this helped!
