It takes the earth about 365.24 days to go around the sun, and this is considered one full revolution. The earth rotates around its own axis in about 24hrs.

The Earth’s revolution is its orbit around the Sun.  This takes 365.26 days to complete.  We have a leap year every for years to make up for the imperfect amount of days.  The Earth completes this rotation in an eliptical or oval shape, being closest to the Sun on January 3 and farthest on July 4.  This does not effect seasons.  The Earth’s rotation refers to the planet spinning on its axis which takes exactly 24 hours to complete.
