How long does it take a dog to reach full size?

Most dogs reach full size somewhere between twelve and eighteen months, however it depends on the breed. In terms of maturity, some breeds grow out of their ‘puppy’ phase around one year old, some go up to three years. It is important to research a breed you are considering before purchasing or bringing home the puppy so you know if their characteristics will work with your lifestyle.
