    A Bluefin that weighs 100 pounds is probably in between the ages of four and five. The average weight of a Bluefin Tuna at the age of four is 85 pounds while at the age of five it is 130 pounds. The average length of a four year old Bluefin is about 49 inches and at five years old they grow to about 56 inches. A Bluefin at this size is classified as a Large School Fish. The largest Bluefin ever caught on record weighed 1,496 pounds and was caught off the cost of Nova Scotia.
