How long do tomatoes take to grow big enough to eat?

It varies by the type of tomato. Some, like early girls, have been designed to ripen as early as possible. Others, like the monstrous beefsteaks, take much longer. After the flowers drop off, it can take anywhere from 20-35 days for a tomato to mature. There’s a lot of variation, but it’ll always take a few weeks.
