Strawberries will produce fruit for 2-3 years. There are different types of strawberry plants that produce fruit at different times. The two main categories of strawberries fall under Day-Neutral Berries & Single Croppers. Day Neutral berries will produce a steady amount of fruit all summer long. Single Croppers will produce all their fruit in one 3-4 week go, usually in the middle of summer ( May – July ).
In the south, southwest and along the California coast, strawberries can be planted in fall or early winter. Elsewhere strawberries should be planted in early spring, as soon as the ground is workable.
