As modern photographic paper is made of a combination of paper and plastic, it could take hundreds of years for photographs to decompose. In addition, landfills are processed daily in a way which inhibits the growth of aerobes which help quicken decomposition. Under different conditions, photographs may decompose faster or slower than normal.
