The lifespan of a gorilla is around 30-55 years, depending on if they are in the wild or in captivity.
Gorillas show distinct signs of age at 35 years old (e.g., arthritis in their hands and feet, loss of teeth and subsequent feeding problems). No exact data on the maximum age of free-ranging gorillas are available, but on average they probably reach 40-45 years. The oldest gorilla to have lived in a zoo died at 55 years.
