How long did it take humans to completely kill off the dodo bird? I know it was fast. Why hasn’t it been used as an example to people as to how fragile life is?

The Dodo bird was “discovered” when European explorers first landed on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean in 1598. By 1662, the species was entirely extinct. It took mankind a mere 64 years to dismantle something nature spent countless generations to create. As to why the Dodo has not been used as a prime example of our impact on the environment, I do not know. Perhaps it seems that the story of the Dodo bird is “going the way of the Dodos..”
