An average giant otter is about 6 feet or 2 meters long. However, the biggest one ever caught measured 66 inches long which is about 6.3 feet. Walter Bolstridge trapped the giant otter in Portland, Maine on December 4, 1949. “Bolstridge said that before being skinned, the huge otter was about 76 inches long from the tip of its nose to the end of its tail.” A picture is available in the second link below.
Here is a picture of some giant otters standing next to either an alligator or crocodile (both tend to be pretty long) to give you an idea of their relative size:
