    A 12 foot wingspan is common for an albatross. The largest wingspan ever recorded for an albatross was 17 feet.

    Albatrosses have the longest wingspan of any bird; 6.5 feet reaching up to 11 or 12 feet. There are different types of albatrosses and the ones with the longer wingspans are the wandering albatross and the royal, or great, albatross.
