If you are referring to the Anasazi people, also known as the ancient pueblo people centered in the modern day Four Corners area of the United states, scientists generally accept that they emerged around 1200 bc during what is known as the Basketmaker II Era, and lived there until the 12th or 13th century. It is not exactly clear why these people migrated from their homes, however, the most prominent theory points to agricultural failure as a result of a time after 1150 where the area experienced an approximate 300 year drought.
