How is LEED Platinum status achieved?

LEED Platinum status requires at least 80 points out of 110 in their system. These points can be made through a variety of ways, including building near mass transit locations, utilizing green energy sources, conserving water, and restoring natural habitats, among other things. There are also different requirements for homes, neighborhood development (in a pilot program), commercial interiors, core & shell, new constructions or major renovations, maintaining existing buildings, schools, healthcare, and retail. Therefore, you must choose which building standards apply to you and look carefully at what you can do with your materials and the site you wish to build on.
