How is India trying to curb their e-waste problem?

Yes. Large cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore have complex e-waste handling infrastructure. Though these companies are only market driven thus no government regulation applies to them, they have developed mainly based on long tradition of waste recycling. There are three stages for an acceptable recycling process, which are: consumption (corporates, households), collection (middleman and scrap dealers, kabadiwalas), recycling (informal recycling sector). However some people choose to recover material by their own which leaves them at risk from harmful chemicals found in e-waste, such as lead, mercury and cadium.
