How hot would earth be without our ozone?

The main role of ozone in the upper atmosphere is to protect the Earth from the harmful UV rays emitted by the Sun. A simulation run by NASA scientists shows that without that ozone in the upper atmosphere DNA mutating UV radiation could go up by as much as 650% greatly increasing the chances of skin cancer or other diseases. The temperature of the Earth would suffer more fluctuations if the ozone layer were gone because ozone plays a role both in protecting the Earth from UV rays and in keeping heat from the sun close to the Earth when it is dark. However, scientists still disagree about the role of ozone in temperature control. Some scientists believe that a loss of ozone will actually result in lower temperatures; as have been observed in some areas during recent winters.
