According to UCLA’s Newsroom “the moon’s surface temperatures are among the most extreme of any planetary body in the solar system.” It can get both extremely hot and extremely cold on the moon. The Diviner spacecraft has been recording lunar temperatures of the surface of the moon to give scientists insight into its average temperatures. Around the moon’s equator during noon-time hours the temperature has reached 224 degrees Fahrenheit. These same regions also have logged temperatures of -298 degrees in the nighttime.
