A common myth is head lice is caused by lack of cleanliness or personal hygiene. Lice is actually caused from personal contact, head-to-head, with an infected person. Most common forms of lice spreading is through, wearing infested clothing, using infested combs or brushes, or lying on pillows, couches, beds, etc. that a person with lice recently had contact with. Lice is most common in school-aged children, but anyone can get head lice.
