Major Advancements Hearing aid technology has been advancing rapidly over the past few years and there are new options to help hard-of-hearing people, who in the past, may not have been able to benefit from conventional type hearing aids.

Two types of hearing aids are digitally programmable hearing aids and completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aids.

    Digitally Programmable Hearing Aids
Like conventional hearing aids, digitally programmable hearing aids process the sound in an analog manner, but also include a computer chip enabling the components to function in a quicker and more efficient manner.

    Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC) Hearing Aids
The CIC hearing aid is the smallest hearing aid available and fits deep inside the ear canal, far enough to be virtually out of sight. For some individuals, this provides more comfort and acoustical benefits than other in-the-ear style hearing aids.
